Sing a song

Do you have a song that evokes a memory so strong that you have to pause.... Take it in, sing along or close your eyes and listen?
I have many. Some that have stories behind them, some having so much meaning to a certain time period in my life...
Say anytime I hear this song I think of my old hip hop dancing days.

This song reminds me of a long ago boyfriend and a heart break

This song my best friend walked down the aisle to...

This song I can not help but think of my girls and how we know ever word and always try to play it when we see each other...

This song is pure summer, singing in the car with my sister Amy...

This song was my first dance at my wedding

This whole album is forever linked to my girls in Chilliwack...

This song was the only thing that would stop Roman from crying when he was a baby

This song will always remind me of my Grandpa, dancing in the living room with my grandma

This song was the last song my little brother requested I play for him in my car. Such a little gansta Rupert was.

This was my basketball warm up song all through high school

This song made me cry when I first heard it, and still does...

This is the song that was my "cheer me up" when I was living on my own for the first time

This song was playing in the background as I was having strong contractions during the labour of London... I danced flamenco all through my pregnancy with her so this song felt so right for me.
I would also love to hear some songs that you have a story to tell with!

My inner Martha, holiday edition.

This is our home decorated for the holidays this year. My inner Martha was just bursting at the seams as I had not 1 but 3 trees to decorate!
Lots of handmade and lots of vintage pieces added to the country style this year. Cedar and fresh pine trimmed from our property filled the house with an amazing smell and the twinkly lights made it feel extra special for our family this holiday.
Here is a few shots from my decorating this year! I hope you all had a lovely holiday with your loved ones.
I added burlap as a garland around the tree this year with vintage glass glitter ornaments, gold and white antique ornaments to complete the country antique look. I think this is my most favorite tree yet!

Tree #2 was a BIG douglas fir tree that we cut down in the woods. We had to move our artificial tree to the living room and the dining room had the higher ceilings.

Tree #3 was a cute little Noble fir in our bedroom! Decorated with black and silver ornaments.

Autumn time

I love fall.
The changing colors of the landscape. The time when we get to finally wear boots, sweaters and scarfs. Warm yummy drinks, the smell of woodsmoke when you go out for a fall walk. Hours spent on pinterst as it is so rainy and cold out... What is that you say? It is very addictive for people that like to make visual boards like myself.
And my birthday... Yes. It is my last month of my twenties. I don't know how I feel yet of being 30 soon?! I am hoping that this new stage of life in my thirties will be the best yet!

I also love decorating for fall. Well technically I love "decorating" in general. Just call me Martha(funny as I think I may go as her for Halloween)
Here is some pictures of fall around the house.

Brought out the Hunter gumboots finally!

I love fall crafting too. Here is a new fun craft that I got inspired by at a beautiful mess.

Such a great crafting time with Roman helping me out. I think I am going to make more for the store to decorate the windows.

Another fall tradition that we do every year is our walk in the woods and collect fall goodies.
Here is a blog post a did from our first one. We also did my favorite craft with the kiddies after.

Wool acorns that I bring out each fall remind me that fun time.

Do you have any fun fall craft's that you love to do in your home?

A new venture.

 I have a new venture.....

I have been missing blogging. I feel it made me stop and appreciate all the I had in my life, all that was around me.
It made want to craft, take photo's, inspire and create things.
It connected me to others all over the blog world.
I helped me write out emotions and things going on in my life.
It let me share my little world with my family far and near.
Mad Times we live in and then Little Yellow Basket were two blog journeys for me, very focused on family, my country life and my little craft business.

I want to start anew. With the opening of my own brick and mortar store called Wilde and Sparrow in May. 2011 , I have started a new journey. Not only as a mother, wife and artist.... but let's throw in business owner of a ladies modern style boutique into the mix!
With the start of the new store venture, I would like to start a new venture of blogging as a fashionable, still a Momma, crafty and creative with an edge.
The wild wolf edge, with fashion ahead of his time like none other of Oscar Wilde.
I hope you would like to join me on this new journey!
